Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE)

GAE is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic knee pain from conditions like osteoarthritis. During GAE, the interventional radiologist guides a catheter through a blood vessel to the arteries supplying the knee (the genicular arteries) and administers tiny particles to block abnormal blood vessels that contribute to inflammation and pain. This procedure can lead to pain relief without the need for surgery or joint alteration.

Used to treat: Osteoarthritis
